I love to create dolls and bears. I imagine each of them living a sweet and peaceful life where their adventures merge, creating a tapestry of merrymaking and excitement as they scamper through grassy fields or skip stones across lazy rivers. Creating “little friends” and imagining a story book life for each of them is a warm dip into a pool of tranquility for this artist. It soothes my very soul. I began by creating teddy bears in early January 1996, and continued for many years, designing patterns for bodies and sculpting polymer-clay faces that suited each bears personality. Soon, an imaginary world became a part of my musings as I created those bears. In that serene world where all the bears lived a joyful and peaceful life, the sun would shine every day and each day was sweeter than the one before. I still retreat into that imaginary world where the afternoons are pleasantly long and the tea is always sweet.

In December 2022, I discovered the wonderful world of Waldorf-inspired dolls, and once again, I was carried away on the wings of imagination. I have loved exploring this creative world, and continue to enjoy learning the art that brings each of these dolls “to life”. As any artist-made-doll creator knows, it is a long and tedious process… one that can take weeks or even months for each doll; One that enriches the life of the artist and hopefully those whose life the dolls touch. It is my great pleasure to share a part of my journey along the path of creativity and into the world of Waldorf-inspired dolls with you.
