Sage Woods’ story …
Though Sage has just begun her Life in her “put-together” state, we already know some lovely things about her. For instance, she really enjoys cold weather. Sage looks forward to snowy days when crystal-like icicles hang down from the roof top in front of her bedroom windows. She plays in the color bursts of light on her bedroom floor, made by the sun shining through their prisms.
In the Spring when the Cherry Blossom Trees are all in full bloom creating a tunnel of pink blossoms along the City Streets, Sage can be found outdoors breathing in the fresh air. One of her favorite pass-times is sitting beneath a cherry tree stuffing her pockets with pink and white cherry blossoms as they gently drift down around her.
Using the cherry blossoms, Sage creates little keepsakes to be sold at the local market on Saturday mornings. Nestled deep within the throngs of bustling people and shouting merchants, she sits at her little table covered with hand crafted objects that delight the shoppers. Soon, her little purse is filled with coins.
Back home at the end of the day, Sage often journals about all the things she saw and heard during market day. As you may guess, pressed between the pages of her journal are multitudes of dried cherry blossoms waiting to be transformed into yet another little work of art.
Sages favorite song is Totoro’s “Path of the Wind”. She never gets tired of that song and often listens to it while journaling or at bedtime while falling asleep.
It will be great fun to discover more about Sage as time goes by. But like her very creation, this can’t be rushed. All good things come in their own time.

This little dress was made from a tea towel I found in an antique store. When Sage saw the cherry blossoms on it she quickly hugged it against her cheek. Seeing the smile on her face, there was no way I could leave the store without it! All the way home, we discussed the little dress I would soon make for her.

Heart shaped buttons on the shoulders and a pair if pink bloomers with tiny lace trim added the final touches to the little sundress.

A cozy night dress was a "must" for Sage. She insists on soft fabrics for her pajamas.

Hand stitched bunny slippers add a cozy bit of comfort for Sage. She's so funny when she wears these. She jumps and skips, pretending the bunnies are scampering about.

Dark blue glass bead eyes and a little gold bell create the face on these soft, fuzzy bunny slippers.

A sparkly bunny tail gave these slippers that added flair that Sage loves. She collapsed into giggles as she watched me stitch them on.

For Sage's rambles around the countryside, she likes to have pockets on her dresses. She often fills them up with cherry blossoms when her bunny Che-Che is not tucked inside for a ride-along.

Little pink shoes made of the softest leather are handmade, and trimmed with a tiny white cherry blossom. They have a small buckle closure for the ankle straps.

This "school girl" uniform is comfortable and sensible. Sage wear it to school, along with her hand-made black leather Mary Jane shoes, trimmed with heart-shaped cutouts.

On colder days, Sage wears dress pants to school to keep her legs warm. Little pockets in the pants is a perfect place to keep tiny treasures.
